*Arts in Education (AIE) -- This division places practicing, professional artists in residence in schools and community settings. These artists are listed in the Directory of Pennsylvania Artists in Education, which is a juried list of artists with expertise in education. The division fosters educational improvement through participation in the creative process in schools and community settings, via residencies, projects, and partnerships between schools or other educational institutions, artists, and arts organizations.
*Artists & Communities -- a program administered by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (MAAF) with PCA funding that offers support for partnerships between visiting artists and non-profit organizations engaged in community-based creative projects. The program supports residencies by visiting artists from New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania at organizations located in the region served by MAAF (Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Virginia, and West Virginia). Non-profit organizations apply in partnership with the artist(s) they wish to host in the residency described in the application. The project must be designed collaboratively by the artist and the host organization. Grant funds are administered by the host organization.
*Pennsylvania Performing Arts on Tour (PennPAT) -- Developed and funded by the Heinz Endowments, the Pew Charitable Trusts, the William Penn Foundation and the PCA, PennPAT awards funds, on a competitive basis, to presenters in support of the presentation of eligible Pennsylvania-based performing artists. PennPAT publishes a roster of all performing artists funded through the program. PennPAT also provides technical assistance funds to artists on the PennPAT roster to advance tour readiness and to improve marketing and other tour management capabilities. FastWeb
www.fastweb.com
http://www.fastweb.com/
If you have access to the world wide web and are willing to fill in the online forms, this service promises a free customized list of financial aid sources. FastWeb is actually a searchable database of more than 400,000 private sector scholarships, fellowships, grants, and loans from more than 3,000 sources for all levels of higher education. First-time visitors have to register (first and last name and a user ID), then complete a profile, including background and fields of study. Registrants then receive a list of all currently relevant funding sources. The registration information is stored and can be used on subsequent visits. The entire sign-up process, and delivery of available funding sources, can be a bit tedious: about five to twenty minutes, depending on the connection speed. Approximately 500 new scholarships are added to the database daily, so registrants can stay current.
